Leadership
.
Because of a higher level of independent living, high school students at Rio naturally develop strong and enduring leadership skills.  Throughout the curriculum, students are provided many opportunities for leadership such as cooperative learning groups, project analysis, speeches, presentations, and peer tutoring. Students who choose social and peer leadership rolls experience another level of leadership.

These students serve as student association officers, class officers, as well as girl’s and boy’s club officers.  Several work options allow for growth in leadership on campus where students are given appropriate responsibilities as they demonstrate trustworthiness in their work assignments.  Athletic and music leadership positions are always available for students to assist the team or the music group in accomplishing its goals.

The most significant area of leadership occurs when students initiate spiritual leadership among their peers.  The Campus Ministries Department supports and coordinates student spiritual interests and programming.  Again, much of the religious programming and campus outreach is student driven and led.  Students have opportunities to lead out in worship in the dorms, at the church, and other off campus sites. Thus, students gain real-life preparation while taking full advantage of the opportunities made available for them at Rio Lindo Adventist Academy.
