Academic Information
Graduation Requirements
To participate in graduation exercises and to receive a diploma the following must be fulfilled:
- Be in attendance for the final semester of the school year in which you graduate
- Have a satisfactory conduct and attendance record
- Score at or above the 9th grade proficiency requirements in math, reading, and written expression on standardized tests
- Complete the requirements for one of the three diplomas offered
- Complete 25 hours of volunteer community service for each year of attendance at Rio.

One year = 10 units; One semester = 5 units
1Religion: Five units required for each semester at a Seventh-day Adventist school.
2Modern Language: All UC and CSU universities require two years of the same modern language as an entrance requirement.
3Must include the honors classes in these subjects.
4Must include a minimum of Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.
5Must include a minimum of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
College Prep Diploma:
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 required. Minimum grade of C- required in any course that fulfills requirements for entrance to the University of California or California State University. These include: English, math, science, history, modern language, and fine arts classes.
Honors Diploma:
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 required. Students must earn a minimum grade of C- in all classes.

Rio Lindo Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities.
