2011 Volleyball Tournament

On Saturday, September 10, four volleyball teams gathered at Rio Lindo for a mini volleyball tournament. The tournament started with sundown worship at the church park. After the worship, teams warmed up and started play.

Redding Adventist Academy, traveled the farthest, driving four hours. Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy, Napa Christian and Rio Lindo Adventist Academy rounded out the four team tournament. Games kicked off with Rio Lindo playing Pleasant Hill, and Redding playing Napa Christian.

Each match played on Saturday night was a best of three format. Rio Lindo defeated Pleasant Hill and Redding came out on top against Napa Christian. The teams rotated and played again. This time Rio Lindo beat Napa Christian and Redding beat Pleasant Hill.

The championship game took place between the Rio Lindo Spartans and the Redding Lumberjacks. The third place game involved Napa Christian and Pleasant Hill. In the third place game Napa Christian came out on top beating Pleasant Hill in a close game 25-19, 18-25, 15-9.

The championship game was not as close since Redding came in focused and ready to play. They dominated the Spartans, defeating them in two games 25-16, and 25-19. Redding finished in first place, Rio Lindo in second, Napa in third and Pleasant Hill in fourth.
