Any high school can help students earn their diploma but not every high school strives to educate the entire student. Here at Rio Lindo Adventist Academy the faculty and staff are committed to providing a variety of opportunities both in class and out that encourage students to discover and develop their talents and to decide what they want to do with those talents after they graduate. Out of the classroom academic activities are an especially important part education because they can help students see how what they learn in the classroom can be used in real life.

Program Guide

Below is our Program Guide, which outlines important information such as graduation requirements, class schedules, course descriptions, and international student information.

Our wide variety of optional classes allows students to explore subjects they are specifically interested in. Whether future goals include a college education or not, students who take advantage of these classes can get a better idea of the type of job they want to have after high school. More information about offered classes is available on our website (see course descriptions) or by contacting Judy Yingling, school registrar, by email or phone: (707) 431-5100 ex. 106.

For students interested in sports, our athletics department coaches eight sports teams each year. Students learn valuable skills such as teamwork while getting good exercise and receiving credit to apply to their diploma.

Students interested in music have the option of four different music groups they may join or may take individual lessons. Our music program is very active with groups touring around northern California as well as a trip to another part of the country every other year.

Drama classes provide students with another way to explore and develop their talents. This year the drama group is producing two full length plays in additional to several smaller performances.

The campus work program provides students with the opportunity to earn money to go towards their school bill and work credit to be applied to their diploma while gaining practical skills that they can use in their future employment. Campus jobs are a great opportunity for students to develop good work habits and responsibility as well as more specialized skills.
