Faculty Highlight – Denise Tonn

This week for Faculty Facts Friday we are highlighting Denise Tonn, Science Teacher. During the school year, Mrs. Tonn takes students on several STEM-oriented outings around the Bay Area including a biology trip to Albion Field Station. Mrs. Tonn spent much of her early career researching fisheries and waterways in the Northwest. Read below to learn more about Denise Tonn:

Q: If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?

A: Backpack electrofishing

Q: What job would you be terrible at?

A: I would be a terrible accountant. Free unsolicited advice for the young: marry someone with the opposite skill set as you so you can help each other out. I’m lucky my husband can budget, because if left to my own devices I’d always be broke! (And if left to his own devices, he’d save all his money and never have any fun.)

Q: What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

A: Sustainable farming

Q: What are some small things that make your day better?

A: Prayer, coffee, and sarcasm.

Q: If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

A: I would read ALL THE BOOKS, and maybe finally get around to cleaning my house.

Do you remember going to Albion for Biology?

Check back next week for another Faculty Highlight!
