Estate Planning

Designate Rio Lindo Adventist Academy as a beneficiary of your Will, Trust, IRA, or Life Insurance Policy. Please work with Julie or directly with the Northern California Conference Trust Services Department who will provide appropriate titling and designation information for your documents.

Wise tax planning can make your money go farther. Charities pays zero taxes on donations made for its charitable purposes (as defined by the Internal Revenue Service).

Typically, Invested Retirement Accounts have a high taxability and an individual receiving the funds pays a large percentage of the gift in taxes. If your IRA gift is donated to a 501(c)3 charity, the taxability is a non-issue and more of your gift is preserved.

Commonly, Life Insurance Policies have zero taxability to any beneficiary. If you are planning to give money from your estate to individuals and charities, it is often better to give the highest taxable items to charity and the lowest taxable items to individuals.

Please consult your tax advisor and/or estate planning attorney regarding your personal situation. You may request Rio Lindo send a representative to meet with you and your advisors or attorneys as you plan your estate. Rio Lindo Adventist Academy does not provide legal or tax advice, but rather is there to assist in discussions on how to best complete your intended gift.
