Dennis Richards, Science Teacher

Dennis Richards sees teaching as an art form. While teaching physics, math and physical science, Mr. Richards enjoys spending time researching techniques to make his teaching more efficient and fun for the students. One of Mr. Richards’s favorite experiments is studying Newton’s second law. Although many students know about the law of acceleration, Mr. Richards uses a small weighted cart on a track rigged with a motion sensor to detect the change in velocity on a computer.  Students marvel at how the velocity is graphed and can then calculate acceleration. Mr. Richards utilizes technology to track and calculate data in nearly all of his class experiments.

He and his wife, Jill and his two daughters enjoy time together outside of school.
