Rio Lindo Adventist Academy takes God’s calling to be servants to our community quite literally. We live in a world that is calling out for help on all fronts. There are those who need aid during times of disaster and crisis and those who need help with basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Some desperately need a place where they can freely worship and others need someone to visit them and share a story and a smile and Rio is this place for those people. Serving others is woven throughout our DNA.
Students are invited to serve during Community Service Days, such as Martin Luther King Day. Students also pay Sabbath afternoon visits to the local community. Students can keep track of their required 25 hours per year by checking in regularly with the Community Service Director.
Each year, Rio students are also invited to embark on a mission trip during spring break. In recent years, students have traveled to Thailand to help ADRA install water in remote villages, Peru to build a church in the rainforest, and Los Angeles and Las Vegas to bring hope and food to the less fortunate. Contact the school at info@riolindo.org to find out where Rio students are headed next.
