About Rio

Learn. Serve. Lead.

four students greet each other in front of the school

Rio Lindo Adventist Academy is the boarding school for the Northern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Our co-educational school offers a commitment to excellence in its quiet, safe and picturesque location. Our dedicated staff serve with a vibrant sense of mission to the cause of education. Our culturally diverse student body creates an opportunity to interact globally while fostering a close-knit community based on mutual respect.

All students are encouraged to develop their potential in a nurturing environment. Staff and students work, study, pray, and socialize together, creating lasting relationships unique to a boarding school experience. About 85% of Rio’s teachers have advanced degrees in their fields of teaching and work continuously to grow as teachers to better connect and engage students in quality learning.

Rio’s ultimate goal in teaching is to maximize every student’s potential, no matter the background; to make student thinkers rather than mere reflectors of others’ opinions, whether in the classroom, church, or among peers. Rio’s tagline is “Learn. Serve. Lead.” and our hope is that every student will graduate and make a difference in the world by continuing to learn, serve, and lead.

Founded in 1962, Rio Lindo Adventist Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and provides an enriched, college preparatory curriculum with numerous elective classes, allowing students to pursue a wide variety of interests. Our campus is located 70 miles north of San Francisco and gives students the opportunity to learn in a safe, scenic, and natural setting. The campus overlooks the Russian River, which winds around the school’s 360 acres, and sits in the shade of Fitch Mountain.

During your tour, you will meet teachers and staff, see your classrooms, and visit the dorm. You will also have time to envision what you can be involved with while you’re here.

Graduation

After graduation, our students attend universities all over the world. After they walk down the aisle to accept their diplomas, they go on to pursue studies in medicine, nursing, business, management, film, exercise science, nutrition, teaching, and more. Many of our graduates receive significant scholarships and are well prepared for life after Rio.

Successful Alumni

Our alumni are the best indication of our school’s program. We frequently invite alumni back to speak and inspire our current students with the wealth of wisdom that they bring. Are you an alumni who would love to give back? Get in touch with us below and let’s talk about it!
