Rio Lindo Adventist Academy is accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities.
All colleges accept our general diploma. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for graduation.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 required. Minimum grade of C- required in any course that fulfills requirements for entrance to the University of California or California State University. These include: English, Math, Science, History, Modern Language, and Fine Arts classes.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 required. Students must earn a minimum grade of C- in all classes.
Rio Lindo Adventist Academy offers three diplomas- the general high school diploma, the advanced diploma, and the honors diploma. The requirements for these diplomas are listed below. One year of a class is equivalent to ten credits; one semester of a class is equivalent to five credits.

1 Religion—5 credits required for each semester at a Seventh-day Adventist school.
2 English—must include a minimum of 3 years of “college prep” English
3 Math–must include a minimum of Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry
4 Science–must include Chemistry and Physics
5 World History—a World Geography or World Culture class also meets this requirement
6 Modern Language—two years of the same language required
7 Fine Arts—Includes art, music, drama, woodshop, metals, yearbook, and Worship Leadership
*Advanced Diploma: Cumulative GPA of 2.0 required. Minimum grade of “C” required in all classes that fulfill the A-G entrance requirements to a UC or California State University.
In addition to meeting the requirements for an Advanced Diploma, students wishing to pursue an Honors Diploma must earn a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum grade of “C” in all classes. Also, students must complete four of the following six courses: Honors US History, Honors English III, Honors English IV, Anatomy & Physiology, Pre-calculus, and Calculus. The Honors History/English classes take the place of the regular classes in these subject areas.
Rio was a home and a family. I was there for 2 and a half years, and you bet I cried my eyes out graduation day. There, I made lasting friendships and too many memories to count.
