Leaving Rio Lindo comes with a lot of mixed emotions. On one hand, I’m excited to move on from high school—the stress of last-minute projects and essays, the constant hustle. I’m ready to dive into something new and exciting. But on the other hand, it’s hard to say goodbye.
Rio Lindo has shaped me in ways I never expected. I wouldn’t be the person writing this if it weren’t for this school. When I first arrived, I kept to myself. I locked myself in my room, avoided socializing—and for the entire first quarter of freshman year, most people thought my name was Milton.
But things changed. Over time, Rio helped me open up. I found my voice, discovered new passions, and made lifelong friends. The community here—students, teachers, staff—lifted me up and helped me grow.
I’ll carry the memories with me forever. Whether it was late nights studying or laughing with friends in the dorms, every moment mattered.
If you’re reading this trying to decide where to go to high school—or where to send your kid—know that Rio Lindo is something special.
As you read this, I might be walking across the stage, or already graduated. This school has meant the world to me. I’ve loved every minute of my time here.
Thank you, Rio, for everything.
This is Westin signing off.
Stay green, Rio.
